Jason is doing ok, some days he isn't well and others he is absolutely fine. It's strange really. Not sure why it has taken so long to get better and for him to get back on his feet. I can only guess it's the H. Pylori bacteria that hasn't cleared 100% yet. For example this weekend was a fantastic weekend. He was so well and we were back to our feeding routine during the day (feeds every 3 hours). We even managed to go to the beach on Sunday and he had a GREAT day. So the weekend was wonderful. Monday came and he was a bit gagging in the morning with a strange cough, so we didn't give him his usual feed (meaning volume wise). Normally he can handle 200mls food at a time but when he is gaggy and not feeling well we have to reduce this. When I got home from work he was still asleep. I went to wake him for therapy and he was sopping wet from sweating and when he did wake up he was gagging and not well. So we didn't make therapy again unfortunately. Today also a bit gagging in the morning and he slept all afternoon. We are finding that he is taking long afternoon naps (2.5 to 3 hours) which is unusual for him as before getting sick he wouldn't sleep in the day. I guess his body needs the rest. He isn't on any medication anymore, that is all finished but I guess his little body has taken a huge knock with all the medication and he needs the rest.
He hasn't been going to school yet. I am sure he is missing it terribly and I feel bad having to keep him home but if we sent him to school he would just catch infections due to his levels being low and him being vulnerable to catching viruses and bacteria. I am hoping by next week we can send him. He really is missing out on the stimulation and school is important for him. Unfortunately we are missing a few therapy sessions as well due to him not feeling well but we do try and make it. Some times end up just turning around and going back home.
His stomach has been a lot better and the diarrhoea seems much better. His bum has cleared nicely from the rash and things are looking a whole lot better.
Eating wise he is back to eating onions :-). It is great to have that back. I was getting worried that he wasn't interested in food and drink anymore but I guess who is when you have diarrhoea like that and vomiting. So it's great to see him interested in his onions again.
I did see the homeopath last week. It was very interesting. Took a while to run through all Jason's past history and I am sure I scared the living daylights out of the homeopath with all Jason's symptoms that need fixing. I have never tried going the homeopathic route but I thought we have tried everything else and that is not working so why not give the homeopathic medicines a try. It is strange giving him 5 drops here and 5 drops there. They say it takes a while to work. I am not expecting miracles but I did tell the homeopath that we do need a miracle remedy in a bottle lol. We will see and I guess next polygam we may or may not see a difference in his blood results. It will be interesting to see. It's worth the try, we have nothing to lose - who knows??
Otherwise slowly Jason is looking and feeling better. His weight isn't great. He is tall but very skinny. We are trying to catch up on some weight with his night feeds via the pump while he sleeps. I am managing 800mls at night but his day oral feeds haven't been that great. This is when I say thank goodness for the peg (feeding tube in his tummy).
