My morning started out with breakfast arriving. I was ravenous and so looking forward to my meal. Breakfast is one of the best meals here in hospital. You can't go too wrong with bacon/sausage and eggs. OR so I thought. It helps if you tick the box on the menu order next to egg otherwise you will be left with just a lonely sausage. The meals come with one of those stainless steel lids over the plate to keep the food and plate warm and my "whala" moment turned into utter disappointment when all I had was a tiny sausage to nibble on. Quite comical. What you order is what you get. Nothing more, nothing less!
I was looking at the amount of medications Jason gets each day. It's actually quite frightening how much medication is pumped into his little body. I don't like medication at all. If I could throw it all away I would for sure. The medication he receives is all for his reflux and indigestion, nausea and vomiting, chronic sinusitis, autonomic condition, kidney disease and lack in vitamins. I did notice both times while tube weaning that we were able to wean Jason off all medication. Nausea and vomiting definitely comes with tube feeding but also comes with being ill. One day I will throw this all away and I can't wait for that day to arrive.
Otherwise Dr. P and Prof B are happy with things. The repeat urine test showed NO puss cells which was great and means that the antibiotics have done their trick and cleared that infection. The fevers are gone, it's been 5 days on IV antibiotics and there is no reason why we can't go home tomorrow. The gagging is still there but this is something that doesn't go away fast. He can gag for weeks, it's one of those things that we have to get use to.
Our flights to Pretoria have been booked for Monday. We fly out in the morning and fly back in the afternoon. We could have stayed as long as we wished but I would rather fly there, see the doctors and fly back. We have been away from home long enough and I want to get home ASAP. I am very excited about this awesome opportunity. It's an opportunity of a lifetime. Hopefully we will get some more insight into Jason's problems and leave Pretoria with a few more answers.
Tonight R and B came and prayed with Jason and myself. We are very blessed that they take the time out to come and pray for Jason and for our family. It felt really good to have two men of God coming and praying with us for Jason. Prayer is powerful and miracles do happen. I am praying for our miracle!! Please pray with me too.
Anyway my eyes are closing here, it's time to recline my chair and catch some shut eye before the next neb or disturbance. Night night all!!
