This is the reason why Jason has 3 weekly intravenous immunoglobulin treatment in hospital. Octagam or polygam is a blood product that contains the pooled, polyvalent, IgG antibodies extracted from the plasma of over one thousand blood donors. IVIG is therefore replacement therapy for Jason to give him an immune system to fight off viruses, bacterial and fungal infections.
